The NTs OMZ completes consumer orders for processing data acquired by ground acquisition segment for the Russian and foreign remote sensing data and for standard data products generation using these data.

In accordance with International Classification of Remote Sensing Data Presentation Levels, the system proposed within the framework of „The Earth Observing System Data and Information System“ (EOSDIS) Program and supported by advices from the Committee for Earth Observation Satellites (CEOS), is used in space data processing. The NTs OMZ’ standard processing levels of all types of satellite data observe these advices.

Data from Operational RESURS-DK Spacecraft
The RESURS-DK imagery has CCD matrix-based image of special structure. All processing levels are performed for image in one spectral range (panchromatic or narrow) or for color composite image. Table 1 presents standard processing levels of the RESURS-DK data.
Table1
LevelStructure
0Radiometric correction of full resolution images and view images (8-fold compression) of total route;
Color composition of multi-band images on selected areas of imaging route;
Text annotation generation (descriptor) to product;
Saving of result in formats TIFF, BMP, GIF and etc.
1Includes Level 0 Processing, provides in addition:
Geographical location with ballistic data from satellite navigation equipment (including ballistic prediction data) and with onboard attitude control system data;
Saving of processed result in formats GeoTIFF, ERDAS Imagine and etc.
2Includes Level 1 Processing, provides in addition:
Ortho-transformation of image using ground control points and digital terrain model of imaged region;
Saving of processed result in format GeoTIFF, ERDAS Imagine and etc.

Archived Data from RESURS-O1 №2-4, OKEAN-О №1, METEOR-3 №1, MONITOR-E
Optical sensors on board these spacecraft belong to the category of scanning devices that form line-by-line image structure. Their standard processing levels are identical and given in Table2.
Table2
LevelStructure
0Pulse noise filtering;
Distorted and missed line correction and recovery (up to 3);
Restore of image space-time structure by adding trailing zero;
Geographical location by orbital data (with and without telemetric data);
Text annotation generation (descriptor) to productту;
Saving of result in GIS-format BIL or in graph formats BMP, TIFF etc
1Includes Level 0 Processing, provides in addition:
Radiometric normalization by statistical method;
Geographical location using one or more ground control point;
Annotation generation in raster form with applying geographical grid and fiducial marks (edge annotation)
2Includes Level 1 Processing, provides in addition:
Geometric distortion correction associated with systematic biases of imagers, the Earth’s curvature and rotation, change in attitude elements (ground control points may be used);
Transformation into map projection with parameters of the 1942 Krasovsky ellipsoid – Mercator and polar stereographic projections;
Saving of processed results in special-purpose format RSML, GIS-formats GeoTIFF, ERS, BIL, and LAN, graph formats BMP, TIFF
3Includes Level 1 or Level 2 Processing, provides in addition:
Amendment of geographical location parameters of images using ground control points specified by consumer;
Generation of edge annotation that includes reference grid, fiducial marks, data line with accompanying data, optical wedge, and scale;
Ortho-transformation of images made by data refined during geodetic orientation or for terrain elevation given in interactive mode, or with use of DTM; the results of transformation are given in one of the selected map projection: Mercator, UTM, Lambert Conformal Conic, Gauss-Krueger

Data from operational MODIS/TERRA
The MODIS/Terra data processing is carried out to fit the CEOS guidelines. Table 3 presents standard processing levels.
Table3
LevelStructure
L0Restore of raw data from full resolution instruments
L1ARestored raw data from full resolution instruments with time marks and annotation, ancillary information containing geometric and radiometric calibration factors and geographical location data (including ephemerides and platform attitude angles, and geographical coordinates of sensors’ fields of view
L1ВL1A data underwent processing for each sensors with radiometric correction and geographical location
L2Restored parameters of the same resolution and position like L1 raw data
L3Parameters entered on regular (uniform in space and time) coordinate grid, as a rule, without misses and ambiguities
L4Simulation data or results of lower level data analysis (i.e. of parameters of multiple determinations

As the experience of remotely sensed data distribution has shown, standard L1B data (with radiometric correction and geographical location) is key standard product in good demand.
