On 14 November 2014, the regular visiting session on the Russian System of Satellite Observations and Technologies: State of the Art and Development Prospects of the 12th Annual All-Russian Open Conference on Actual Problems in Remote Sensing of Earth from Space was held.

The session took place traditionally at the Research Center for Earth Operative Monitoring (NTs OMZ) of JSC „Russian Space Systems).

The event was attended by more than 130 specialists from 40 leading research and production organizations of Russia, Belorussia, and Kazakhstan. 31 oral reports and 14 poster reports were presented.
The session was attended by the representatives of the Federal Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS).

M.N. Khailov, ROSCOSMOS Deputy Head, in his opening address noted the undeniable importance of organizing and holding such events contributing to productive cooperation and exchange of experience between research, production and commercial enterprises in Earth remote sensing. Then he briefly reported on the forthcoming launches of the Russian remote sensing satellites.

During the session such issues as state-of-the-art and prospects of the Russian remote sensing facilities, peculiarities of space imaging technologies, and technical characteristics and processing techniques of data from new (Resurs-P1, Meteor-M2) and future spacecraft (Resurs-P2, Elektro-L2 and others) were considered.

Particular interest was given to the reports on the technologies of stream processing of data from the Meteor-M type satellites and the possibilities of using hyperspectral data for socio-economic thematic problems.
