Visiting Session of 13th Annual All-Russian Open Conference on Actual Problems in Remote Sensing of the Earth from Space: Outcomes. / November 24, 2015 /

On 20 November 2014, the regular visiting session on the Russian System of Satellite Observations and Technologies: State of the Art and Development Prospects of the 13th Annual All-Russian Open Conference on Actual Problems in Remote Sensing of Earth from Space was held.

The session took place traditionally at the Research Center for Earth Operative Monitoring (NTs OMZ) of JSC „Russian Space Systems).

The event was attended by more than 130 specialists from about 70 leading research and production agencies of the Russian Federation. 29 reports (21 oral and 8 poster reports) on actual problems of Earth remote sensing and results of satellite data and derived value-added products applications to the benefit of socio-economic tasks were presented. The session was attended by the representatives of the Federal Space Agency (ROSCOSMOS).

In his introductory statement, Valery A. Zaichko, Deputy Head of ROSCOSMOS Automatic Space Complexes and Systems Department noted the undeniable importance of such events facilitating productive cooperation and experience sharing in remote sensing between research, production and commercial organizations and made a brief presentation on recent changes in the Russian legislation on space activities and the Russian remote sensing spacecraft to be launched in the near future.

The participants discussed the prospects of expanding the Russian in-orbit remote sensing satellite constellation and dissemination of data to consumers concerned in Russia (EMERCOM of Russia, ROSHYDROMET, ROSLESKHOZ, regional authorities, and etc).

Particular interest was given to the reports on technical specifications of the Kondor-FKA future radar system and its data processing technologies. The thematic workshop to discuss the possibility for using hyperspectral data and the processing technologies of such satellite data was organized. The workshop was attended by the representatives of TsSKB Progress», Mozhaisky Military Space Academy and NTs OMZ

The participants appreciated the highly developed remote sensing sector in Russia and expressed their wish for more close and fruitful cooperation between ROSCOSMOS and Operator in the future years.
