On 17-19 September 2013 at the Northern (Arctic) Federal University named after M.V. Lomonosov in Arkhangelsk, Russia the All-Russian Conference with International Participation on Space Technologies Application for Arctic Regions Development was held. The event was organized by ROSHYDROMET, ROSCOSMOS, EMERCOM of Russia, Arkhangelsk Region Administration, Russian Geographical Society, SAFU named after M.V. Lomonosov, and other stakeholders. The main purpose of the Conference is to discuss the experience and development prospects of satellite data application techniques and technologies for solving scientific and applied problems of the Arctic Region including hydrometeorological safety, navigation, and natural resource management. The main themes addressed during the Conference are: Round-table sessions: The leading scientists and specialists in the field of satellite hydrometeorology and environmental monitoring from the Russian Federation and foreign countries, first of all from the Arctic Council Member Stated took part in the Conference. Julia Fedorkova, the NTs OMZ specialist participated in Section „Space and GIS Technologies for Environmental Management“. She presented her paper on Capabilities of Geoinformation Services of the Russian Remote Sensing Space System Operator for Applied Problems of the Arctic Region Monitoring. |
