On the territory of several regions of the central part of Russia formed an extremely negative situation with forest fires. / August 2, 2010 /

As a result, established abnormally hot, dry weather in late June — early July 2010 in several regions of central Russia formed a very negative situation with forest fires.

The most critical situation is observed in the eastern part of the Nizhny Novgorod region — Lyskovsky and Vorotynsky. According to the regional emergency department [http://52.mchs.gov.ru/], the first foci of inflammation were found June 28 in the Krasnoyarsk district forester Lyskovsky area in future fires spreading to Vorotynsky area.

A day created on 10 seats of natural fires. The area traversed by natural fires per day, amounted to 46,7 ha. Compared with the same period in 2009 the number of fires increased by 40,6%, and compared with the averages — 78%. The area traversed by the fire, has increased in 3,9 times. In accordance with the information reported MOE, the situation remains extremely critical to the present.

Modern means of remote sensing allow for daily monitoring of the fire-danger conditions throughout Russia, including hard-to-ground and aerial observation areas, and provide timely information to the federal and regional think tanks MOE and Federal Forest Service, local governments, environmentalists.

Information obtained in NTs OMZ equipment KMSS spacecraft Meteor-M »№ 1, is used to control the situation from the first days of detection of fires in the Nizhny Novgorod region. In connection with the local clouds is not able to obtain daily information, but the available materials allow shooting to monitor the direction of smoke plume, to assess the area of burned-out, to predict the development of the situation.
