Nighttime Imaging from RESURS-P Spacecraft. / September 19, 2013 /

At the final stage of the RESURS-P in-flight tests, the experimental nighttime imaging of Los Angeles, USA and Abu Dhabi, UAE was performed.

The experimental results showed the capability of nighttime imaging for solving a number of problems including in combination with imagery data captured during the daytime. For example, nighttime images allow supplementary data to be acquired on illumination of some blocks and streets required for community services, power consumption estimation of night-time illumination, trouble-shooting in illumination system, and addressing other problems relevant to community illumination.

The NTs OMZ intends to continue the experiments for taking nighttime space images.
