The First Interregional School – Workshop in Ulyanovsk. / December 14, 2012 /

The First Interregional School – Workshop on Geoinformation and Space Technologies for Society, Business and Authority took place on December 10 2012 at the FGBOU VPO „Ulyanovsk State University“. The event was arranged by the Ulyanovsk Region Ministry of Information Technologies and E-Democracy Development and Ulyanovsk State University.

At the plenary meeting, the reports of Government Regulation Department of Ulyanovsk Region Ministry of Information Technologies and E-Democracy Development, the Ulyanovsk State University, „NPK „RECORD““, and Research and Development Center ScanEX were presented. The ceremony of signing the Agreement between the Ulyanovsk Region Ministry of Information Technologies and E-Democracy Development and FGBOU VPO „Ulyanovsk State University“ on foundation of Open School that will be based on the Ulyanovsk State University and train all comers in practical experience and theory of using the information technologies was a solemn closing of the plenary meeting.
At the round table on Using Space and Geoinformation Systems to the Benefit of Socio-Economic Development of Region the report „Geoinformation Services of the Russian Remote Sensing System Operator“ by Yu.V. Fedorkova, the NTs OMZ’s specialist was presented. The report considered the existing and future capabilities of ROSCOSMOS’s Geoportal and Base Remote Sensing Data Product Bank for purposes of providing the departmental and regional consumers with the domestic remote sensing data products with a wide use of the Internet services.
The School-Workshop is the first event within the framework of Open School and the first step to attract attention of the public to the prospects of using the geoinformation technologies in the Ulyanovsk Region.
