Sixth Annual Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference: Infocommunication Technologies in Regional Development. / February 15, 2013 /

The Sixth Annual Interregional Theoretical and Practical Conference on Infocommunication Technologies in Regional Development was held on February 7-8 февраля 2013 in Smolensk. It was organized by the Administration of Smolensk Region.

The Conference demonstrated a great interest expressed by the representatives of federal and regional authorities, local authorities, business, civil society, research, educational and cultural institutions, and mass media to the problems of high information technology introduction to management, economy, and social environment. This year, the Conference was attended by a record number of participants – more than 350, about 100 from other regions of Russia. The questions under discussion varied from teaching elderly people computer literacy to creation of centers for space services.

At the Conference, plenary meeting, thematic workshops, and round table as well as conference summary and presentation of prizes of Annual Regional Contest: Information Technologies in Education were held.
Yu.V. Fedorkova, the NTs OMZ specialists participated in Section 3: Application of Geoinformation Systems to the Benefits of Socio-Economic Development of Regions with the paper „Geoinformation Services of Remote Sensing Space System Operator“.
