Information Report on WGCV-35. / October 29, 2012 /

From 23 to 28 September 2012 in Hyderabad, India the 35th Plenary Meeting of the Committee on Earth Observation Satellites Working Group on Calibration and Validation (CEOS WGCV) took place. The meeting was held in the National Remote Sensing Center of India (NRSC).

The Plenary Meeting was attended by the representatives from a number of national space agencies and organizations which are the WGCV members. The Russian Party was represented by P.V. Denisov main specialist from the NTs OMZ of JSC Russian Space Systems. He presented the paper „State-of-the-art and Prospects of Calibration and Validation of Remote Sensing Data in Russia“. The paper contains materials demonstrated the intermediate results of the subsatellite validation observation system established in Russia.



Great interest was expressed by the participants to the technical characteristics of imagery equipment installed on board the new Russian CANOPUS-V satellite as well as to the RESURS-DK and ELEKTRO-L data use for filling the geoinformation service being created within the WGCV.

The next WGCV meeting will be held in Shanghai, Chine in May 2013.
