The Anik G1 spacecraft is put into orbit

On 16 April at 07:49 Moscow Time according to the flight plan, the Canadian Anik G1 telecomunication satellite was separated from the Breeze-M upper stage. The spacecraft is put into orbit and now is ready for customer control.

The ILS Proton-M with Breeze-M upper stage (manufactured by Khrunichev Research and State Production Center) dedicated for the spacecraft orbital injection, lifted off from launching complex of Pad 200 at the Baikonur Cosmodrome at 22:36 Moscow Time the night before. After separation from the third stage of the launch vehicle, the further removal of the spacecraft to the target orbit was by means of the upper stage propulsion system.

Anik G1 was manufactured by Space Systems/Loral (SSL) for Telesat, a leading global fixed satellite services operator, and is designed for providing direct broadcasting services.
