Preparing for First 2013 Launch at Baikonur. / January 29, 2013 /

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome the Soyuz-2.1a rocket with Fregat upper stage and cluster of 6 Globalstar2’s is being prepared for launch.

Today, at the launching complex, Pad 31 experts from the FGUP „TsENKI“’s Yuzhny Space Center began work to prepare for launch of the launching complex equipment.

The day before at the same Pad the Fregat upper stage was fueled to be delivered to mounting and test facility of Pad 112 for further assembly of space nose cone: cluster of 6 Globalstar2’s will be attached to Fregat and then nose cone will be installed on the assembly.

The launch of Soyuz-2.1 Fregat with six Globalstar2 spacecraft – the first launch this year from the Baikonur Cosmodrom – is slated for February.
