Preparations for the launch of spacecraft "Glonass-M". / October 28, 2011 /

On Baikonur launch site, work continues in preparation for the launch of space rocket (ILV) «Proton-M» with the upper stage «Breeze-M» and the block of three satellites «Glonass-M".

Today in the assembly and testing facility site 92A-50 undocking held a launch vehicle (LV) „Proton-M“ on the ground checkout equipment. At the launch vehicle carried the final operations. At the head of the space set termochehol, which serves to maintain a stable temperature inside the fairing where the spacecraft „Glonass-M.“

After completion of test work, „Proton-M“ will be transported to the technical service station, where two days will be filling the tanks with propellant components of low pressure booster „Briz-M“.

Start space rocket ’Proton-M „with the upper stage“ Breeze-M „and the block of spacecraft“ Glonass-M "is scheduled for November 3.

Spacecraft will need to replenish the Russian global navigation system GLONASS, providing highly accurate positioning around the globe.
