Proton M Transported to Launch Complex. / June 7, 2017 /

According to the State Commission decision, on 5 June 2017, the ILV Proton M with the Breez M upper stage and EchoStar 21 communication satellite was transported to launch pad of the Baikonur Cosmodrome and installed into the launching device. The ROSCOSMOS’s experts commenced the Countdown Day 1 operations.

Proton M is scheduled for launch om 8 June 2017 at 6:45 MSC from Pad 81 of Baikonur.

The contract to launch EchoStar 21with the Proton M carrier rocket was concluded by the Russian-U.S. joint venture International Launch Services.
EchoStar 21 is a powerful geostationary spacecraft designed to provide capacity to mobile satellite communication in Europe. EchoStar 21 should become the sixth satellite of the EchoStar orbital constellation, launched with the ILV Proton.
