Upper Composite Assembly for Proton-M/Express-AM4R Mission Completion at Baikonur. / May 6, 2014 /

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, an intensive launch preparation of Proton-M/Express-AM4R is in progress now.
Today, the expert teams of the Khrunichev State Research and Production Space Center and Yuzhny Space Center (TsENKI Division) started the payload fairing installation. Upon it, the experts will carry out the tests of the UC electrical connections. After completion of the work, the upper composite will be joined to the Proton-M carrier rocket.
Proton-M tasked with this launch is in the adjacent room of the assembly & test building, Pad 92A-50 of the Cosmodrome where it undergoes the final tests before its joining with the UC
The Proton/Breeze-M/Express AM4R is scheduled for launch at 01:42 Moscow Time on 16 May 2014.

Express AM4R is built by the European EADS Astrium for the Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) under the RF Federal Space Program for 2006 – 2015. The spacecraft of approximately 5770kg in mass is built on the Eurostar Е3000 platform and carries the С-, Кu-, Кa-, and L-band transponders to provide a sustainable coverage across the entire territories of Russia and CIS countries.
