Elektro-L2 Electrical Testing. / November 27, 2014 /The Elektro-L2 spacecraft is undergoing the integrated electrical testing in thermal vacuum chamber by the NPO named after S.A. Lavochkin experts at the Rocket and Space Industry Research and Testing Center (Peresvet). As of today, the preparation for testing is over, the ground cabling is connected, and screen-vacuum thermal insulation elements, heat flow sensors and vacuum monitoring system are installed. The spacecraft is placed in the vacuum chamber. The integrated electrical testing in vacuum chamber of the spacecraft is aimed to prove the satellite system capability to operate in the environment close to real operating conditions of the spacecraft. Elektro-L2 is designed for multispectral imaging of the Earth’s surface in visible and IR regions (resolution is 1km and 4km respectively) with 30 min revisit period. In case of observing natural disasters, the revisit period may be 10-15 minutes (on ground commands). Press Services of ROSCOSMOS and NPO Lavochkin |
