Express-AM6 Injected into Target OrbitOn 22 October 2014 at 04:31 Moscow Time, the Express-AM6 communication satellite separated from the Breeze-M upper stage in the planned orbit.The Proton-M rocket was launched by the launching teams of the Russian Rocket and Space Industry on 21 October 2014 at 19:09 Moscow Time from Pad 81 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome. The Express-AM5 satellite was commissioned of Russian Satellite Communications Company (RSCC) using the heavy-class Express 2000 platform and is designed to provide a variety of communication and broadcasting services to Russia and surrounding territories. The satellite is expected to stay active for 15 years and its payload includes 11 antennas and 72 C-, Ku-, Ka-, and L-band transponders. The Proton rocket and Breeze-M upper stage are designed and manufactured by the Khrunichev Research and Production Space Center. The modernized Proton equipped with Breeze-M is capable of delivering a payload of more than 6 tons in mass to the geostationary transfer orbit.
