Express-AT1 and Express-AT2 Joined to Breeze-M at Baikonur

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the Russian Rocket and Space Industry expert teams are continuing the launch preparation of the Proton-M vehicle with the Breeze-M upper stage and cluster of two Russian Express-AT1 and Express-AT2 telecommunication spacecraft.

The upper composition assembly has already started: on 2 March, the Express-AT2 satellite was transported from its working place of the clean room to the working place of the upper composite assembly following which it was installed on the Breeze-M upper stage. The experts from the JSC Academician M.F. Reshetnev „Information Satellite Systems“ and Khrunichev Center together with Yuzhny Space Center (FGUP TsENKI Division) assembled the electrical connections between the carrier rocket and upper stage, and checked the electrical circuits.

On 3 March, the upper composite assembly continued. The experts are attaching Express-AT1 with Express-AT2 and Breeze-M.
Upon completing the assembly, the upper composite (Breeze-M/ Express-AT1/Express-AT2 under payload fairing) will be joined to the Proton carrier rocket.
The Proton-M rocket with the Breeze-M upper stage and a cluster of two Russian Express-AT1 and Express-AT2 telecommunication spacecraft is scheduled for launch on 16 March 2014.
