"The Union of EGC": the first launch campaign goes on without disruption. / September 20, 2011 /

At the launch complex «Union» at the Guiana Space Centre (French Guiana), work is continuing in the first start-up campaign.

Currently in the assembly and testing facility run complex «Soyuz» specialists of enterprises and organizations, Federal Space Agency have carried out work on the assembly of launch vehicle «Soyuz-ST» in the package and are preparing to conduct electrical tests.

In the construction business experts S3B aerospace industry have finished filling the oxidizer tank booster «Frigate» and are preparing to refuel.

Universal upper stage «Fregat» (RB «Fregat») was developed in NPO. Lavochkin Association and is designed for use in rockets medium and heavy class in order to launch the spacecraft into the desired orbit.

The launch vehicle «Soyuz-ST» with a European spacecraft is scheduled for October 20.

The three-stage rocket «Soyuz-ST» is a modification of missiles such as the «Soyuz», developed in «TsSKB-Progress» (Samara) in the framework of the «Union of EGC.»

In spring 2011, successfully performed ground-based launch complex skills «Union» with the conduct of the «dry removal» and the ceremony of transfer of «keys» to run complex «Soyuz» responsible operator — JSC «Arianespace.»
