The new space vehicle GLONASS-K which meets the modern requirements, will be started for the first time from territory of Russia in December of this year by the carrier rocket «Sojuz-2», the commander of Space armies of the Russian Federation lieutenant general Oleg Ostapenko has informed at cosmodrome «Plesetsk».

«As to grouping GLONASS its increase is planned. In particular, the first new device GLONASS-K will be started in December from cosmodrome» Plesetsk «by the carrier rocket of»Sojuz-2", — the commander has told.

He has noticed that feature of the given space vehicle consists that, «first of all, at it is considerable (till seven years) existence term (in an orbit) is increased, and it meets the modern requirements which are shown to this category of space vehicles. Under the characteristics, it absolutely concedes nothing to space vehicles of other states».

Besides, Ostapenko has told, till the end of current year three more space vehicles of GLONASS M will be started. From cosmodrome «Baikonur» they will be deduced in space by the carrier rocket «Proton».
