GLONASS Station Established in Kamchatka. / June 28, 2017 /

In June 2017, the station for global navigation satellite system measurement collection was established by the experts of the TSNIIMASH Information and Analysis Center for Positioning, Navigation and Timing in Klyuchi settlement, Kamchatka.

The deployment of the station was made with in agreement with the Kamchatka Branch of Federal Research Center „Unified Geophysical Service, RAS“.

The Kamchatka station is multisystem and receives the measurements from all the GLONASS, GPS, BeiDou, and Galileo navigation system spacecraft.

The station data transmission stability and completeness including in real time are being tested now.

The deployment of global navigation satellite system measurement collection station network is aimed to improve the accuracy and reliability of the GLONASS services, and to analyze the accuracy characteristics of other navigation satellite systems.

The ground station measurements are the basis for the system to control and verify the GLONASS radio navigation field characteristics being established by TSNIIMASH. The system uses the latest models and methods of navigation data processing and generates the results of the GLONASS characteristics control and prediction.
