Astronauts have finished the fourth exit to a telescope "Hubble". / May 18, 2009 /

Astronauts of a shuttle «Atlantis» on the night of Monday Moscow time have finished the fourth extravehicular activity within the limits of mission on servicing of a space telescope «Hubble», is informed on site NASA.

Michael Massimino (Michael Massimino) and Michael Gud (Michael Good) were out of a spaceship of 8 hours of 2 minutes. During an exit astronauts, in particular, have replaced a low-voltage power unit with the faulty transformer because of which since August, 2004 спектрограф «Hubble» was in «a safe mode».

Because of complexities with untwisting of bolts it has been decided to postpone installation new изоляционной panels. It is supposed that this problem will be executed during last, fifth exit of astronauts of «Atlantisa» in space. It is planned on 9:16 Monday on east zone time (17:16 Monday on Moscow) and will last about five hours.

Let’s remind, thanks to repair work of crew «Atlantisa» service life of a telescope «Hubble» will be prolonged for the term up to ten years then it will flood in Pacific ocean.
