Inmarsat 5-F3 Successfully Injected Into Planned Orbit

Today, on 29 August 2015 at 06:15 a.m. Moscow Time (in 15 hours 31 minutes after the liftoff), the INMARSAT 5-F3 telecommunication spacecraft separated as planned from the Breeze-M Upper Stage in the planned Super-Synchronous Transfer Orbit (with the 65 thousand km apogee) and was taken under control by Customer’s launch.

Proton Rocket was launched by the Russian Rocket & Space Industry launching teams on 28 August 2015 at 14:44 p.m. Moscow Time from launch complex, Pad 200 of the Baikonur Cosmodrome.

Inmarsat 5-F3 is the third of 3 Inmarsat series satellites of the fifth generation (I-5) designed and built by Boeing Satellite System (US). The first two I-5 series satellites were successfully launched by the Proton Rocket: Inmarsat 5F1 in 2015 and Inmarsat 5F2 in February 2015.

The Friday’s launch marked the 405th Proton-M flight and it is the fourth in 2015.
