Operations and experiments on the International Space Station August 29, 2011

August 29, including the obligatory daily activities of Russian cosmonauts Andrei Borisenko, Alexander Samokutyaev and Sergei Volkov will conduct system maintenance life support (GM). Site for the Federal Space Agency will record some video. Hold a charge the batteries of scientific equipment for the experiment «Hurricane» (experimental development of an Earth-space system for monitoring and forecasting of natural and technological disasters).

For the Russian cosmonauts on August 29, scheduled program of scientific experiments.

Investigation of the physical conditions in space orbiting the Earth:
study the dynamics of the radiation environment on the flight path and in ISS compartments, and dose accumulation in the anthropomorphic phantom, placed inside the station («Matryoshka-R»).

Biomedical research:
study of growth and development of higher plants, as well as the development of the technology of their cultivation in microgravity («Plants-2»);
study the influence of space factors on the state of the systems’ micro-organisms — substrates "as applied to the problem of ecological safety of space technology and planetary quarantine (" Biorisk ");
study of typological characteristics of operator activity in ISS stages of long-term space flight («Typology»).

Exploration of the solar system:
study of fast and thermal neutrons («BTN-Neutron»).

Space biotechnology:
study of the correlation between the change in genetic properties, the productivity of recombinant strains in microgravity and the effects on them of heavy charged cosmic ray particles («Biotrack»);
determine the effect of exposure to conditions of orbital flight on the growth, genetic and physiological characteristics of the producer strain lactol (’lactol ");
study of the effects of space flight on bacteriophages («bacteriophage»);
to study the effect of microgravity on the solubility of calcium phosphates in the water («Calcium»);
to study the characteristics of a cell culture of ginseng and other crops in order to identify opportunities to increase their biological activity («Ginseng-2»).

Remote sensing:
study of the characteristics of the underlying surface, ocean and atmosphere («microwave radiometry»);
Experimental studies on the possibility of using the Russian segment of International Space Station in areas of ecological survey of the various objects («Econ»).

Geophysics and near-Earth space:
Monitoring seismic effects — bursts of high energy particles in near-Earth space («Splash»);
study of atmospheric gamma bursts and optical radiation in terms of thunderstorm activity («Lightning-Gamma»);
experimental testing methods of interaction of the crew of the International Space Station with the courts Rosrybolovstva to search for and development of industrial-productive areas of the world ocean («Seiner»).

Technical research and experiments:
testing of equipment and demonstration of Russian technology round-trip information Space laser line («SLS»);
comprehensive study of the parameters of the ISS as a man-made environment of the various studies («ISS Wednesday»).

ISS attitude control mode is carried out on gyrodines American segment.

The ISS crew is working 28-second long expedition in the Russian Federal Space Agency cosmonaut commander Andrei Borisenko, flight engineers and Samokutyaeva Alexander Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos), Ronald Garan and Michael Fossum (NASA), Satoshi Furukawa (JAXA).
