Operations and experiments on the International Space Station October 26 2011. / October 27, 2011 /

October 26 will transfer control the orientation of the ISS system traffic control and navigation (ship) Russian segment of the single-pulse correction for the ISS orbit correction by means of two motors service module «Zvezda», after which control the orientation of the ISS will be transferred back to the U.S. segment gyrodines station.

Russian cosmonaut Sergei Volkov will continue doukladku remove equipment in the cargo ship «Progress M-10M», will perform the required activities for the maintenance of life support (GM), will hold a filling water tanks of the «Electron» and TV communications session with the participants of the International Space Olympics .

Among the scientific experiments planned for the RS ISS, Sergei Volkov will spend:

Biomedical research:
study the influence of space factors on the state of the systems’ bacteria — substrate "as applied to the problem of ecological safety of space technology and planetary quarantine («Biorisk»);
study of growth and development of higher plants, as well as development of the technology of their cultivation in microgravity («Plants-2»).

Investigation of the physical conditions in space orbiting the Earth:
dynamics of the radiation environment on the flight path and in ISS compartments, and accumulation of dose in the anthropomorphic phantom, placed inside the station («Matryoshka-R»).

Space biotechnology:
determine the effect of exposure to the conditions of orbital flight on the growth, genetic and physiological characteristics of the producer strain lactol («lactol»);
study the effect of microgravity on the solubility of calcium phosphates in the water («Calcium»);
study the correlation between the change in genetic characteristics, and productivity of recombinant strains in microgravity and the effects on them of heavy charged particles of cosmic radiation («Biotrack»);
study of the effects of space flight on bacteriophages («Bacteriophage»);
to study the characteristics of ginseng cell culture and other cultures in order to identify opportunities to improve their biological activity («Ginseng-2»).

Remote sensing of the Earth:
study of the characteristics of the underlying surface, ocean and atmosphere («microwave radiometry»);
Experimental studies on the possibility of using the Russian segment of International Space Station for ecological survey of the area of various objects («Econ»).

Geophysics and near-Earth space:
study of atmospheric gamma bursts and optical radiation in conditions of thunderstorm activity («Lightning-Gamma»);
study the relaxation of chemical reactions caused by the interaction of the exhaust of jet engines of ships with the upper atmosphere by analysis of images and spectra in the UV range («relaxation»);
monitoring of seismic effects — bursts of high energy particles in near-Earth space («Splash»).

Technical research and experiments:
study of high-precision motion estimation ISS («Vector-T»);
identification of sources of disturbances in violation of the conditions of microgravity on the ISS (the «Identification»);
comprehensive study of the parameters of the ISS as a man-made environment of the various studies («Wednesday ISS»);
study on the effect of the functioning of the systems on board the ISS to the conditions («Bend»);
testing of equipment and demonstration acceptance of Russian technology transfer of information on space laser line («SLS» — stand-by mode).

Physico-chemical processes and materials in space:
study of plasma-dust crystals and fluids in microgravity («Plasma Crystal»).

The ISS crew continues to work the 29th long-term expedition consisting of commander Michael Fossum (NASA), flight engineers Sergei Volkov (Roscosmos) and Satoshi Furukawa (JAXA).
