NASA has decided to refuse building of moon base.

The American space agency, possibly, will not build manned base on the Moon. Chris Skoleze has informed on such decision (Chris Scolese), fulfilling now to journalists New Scientist duties of the head of agency.

The program on creation of lunar base was developed for astronauts within the limits of the scale plan on an outer space exploration «Constellation» (Constellation). The dwelling for the earth dwellers who have landed on the Moon was planned to create not later than 2020. Michael Griffin heading NASA till the end of January, 2009, insisted on full realisation of all planned projects.

On the eve of inauguration of US president Baraka Obamy Griffin has submitted a resignation. The new agency head is not appointed till now. Nominally this post occupies Skoleze. He has told that building of base will demand too big expenses which could go on realisation of other actions of «Constellation». In particular, Skoleze has especially noted importance of flight of the person to Mars and disembarkation on one of circumterraneous asteroids. On a question, whether the agency can keep within the allocated budgetary funds, Skoleze has not given the direct answer.

Plans to send mission to Mars often are exposed to criticism from outside experts. Sceptics assert that it will be very difficult to astronauts to transfer long flight. Besides, the robotised systems can cope with performance of all experiments not worse people, and expenses for maintenance of their viability is incommensurable less.

Nevertheless, for the future flight on the Red planet prepare not only the USA. At the Russian Institute of medical and biologic problems of the Russian Academy of Sciences on March, 31st, 2009 started experiment on flight modelling to Mars under the name «Mars 500». While its participants from Europe and Russia endure the reduced version of flight — it will last 105 days. High-grade experience should last 520 days.
