"Yuri Gagarin" has docked to the ISS.

The Soyuz TMA-21, named in honor of Yuri Gagarin, docked with the ISS. On this Thursday morning, April 7, reported at the Mission Control Center (MCC), Russian Space Agency. The docking took place automatically.

«Yuri Gagarin» delivered to the station of Russian cosmonaut Alexander Samokutyaeva and Andrei Borisenko and NASA astronaut Ronald Garan. According to ITAR-TASS, they will spend in space for more than five months. Thus, the ISS crew is increased to six people.

In the MCC made it clear that the newcomers will open hatches and move to the International Space Station at about 6:30, Moscow time.

It is noted that the joint crew, among others, will host the celebrations on the 50 th anniversary of the first flight into space. In particular, the astronauts will be the first viewers of the documentary film "About 108 minutes of Yuri Gagarin. Recording has already been brought to the ISS, its show scheduled for April 12.

Launch vehicle Soyuz-FG launch with the spacecraft Soyuz TMA-21 was launched from the Baikonur Cosmodrome on the night of April 5.
