Zenith/Electro-L Prelaunch Processing Continues at Baikonur. / January 12, 2011 /

Experts of the Russian space industry transported the space upper composite to site 42 for further assembly with the launcher.
Electrical tests of Zenith-2SB control system were carried out today. The experts also verified roll-out transportation car.
Zenith-2SB with Fregat-SB upper stage are scheduled to launch Russian weather satellite Electro-L on Jan. 20, at 3.32 p.m.
With this launch, Russia will have its own weather satellite in GSO. Within 10 years of orbital operations, Electro-L will provide Russian and world customers with weather prediction, sea and ocean status, ionosphere status, climate monitoring, ecological data.
