The launch vehicle "Long March-3III» with a navigation satellite was carried out with the Xichang launch site, which is south-west China. To date, the rocket apparatus led to the geostationary orbit.

Launched on January 17 satellite will be the third vehicle, launched by China in the framework of the global positioning system «Beidou navigation system» — an analog of the American GPS and Russia’s GLONASS. Total orbit is planned to place 35 satellites. Beijing’s plan, that the system will start working as early as 2012. At full capacity, «Beidou navigation system» will be released in 2020.
