Mexico created space agency. / April 21, 2010 /

The lower house of the Mexican parliament voted to create the space agency April 20, 2010. The upper house approved the draft in 2008. The proposal to create the space agency had been made in the Mexican Senate in 2007, U.S. astronaut Jose Hernandez (Jose Hernandez), whose father emigrated from Mexico.

In its new organization structure, responsible for space policy in Mexico, will remind the American space agency. In addition to creating AEXA Mexico plans to build its own launch facility on the Yucatan Peninsula.
