Martian probe MRO suddenly fell into hibernation.

Martian probe Mars Reconnaissance Orbiter (MRO) passed to the standby mode after the on-board computer crashes for no apparent reason on Sept. 15. This is reported in the press release the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) at NASA.

Currently, a team of specialists overseeing the mission of MRO, trying to restore normal operation mode and determine the cause of failure. The data transmitted by the device, show that its batteries are fully charged, and the temperature of all equipment is within normal limits.

The last time the MRO passed into safe mode on Aug. 26, 2010, after its board computer rebooted four times in a row. Before this event, the probe continuously worked for 10 months. In 2009, the MRO passed into safe mode four times.

Apparatus MRO was launched into orbit of Mars in August 2005. Its establishment at a cost of $ 420 million. Formally, the mission of the probe was completed in November 2008, but the device still transmits scientific data. A total of MRO beamed back to Earth more information than all other Mars missions combined.
