"Progress M-09M." Launch Campaign Continues at Baikonur. / January 25, 2011 /

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome continues preparations for the launch of cargo spacecraft «Progress M-09M» to the International Space Station.

January 24 headunit rocket Soyuz-U launch vehicle «Progress M-09M» was sent from the Assembly and Testing Facility spacecraft for integration.

Start rocket Soyuz-U «with a cargo ship Progress M-09M» is scheduled for January 28, 2011.

The ship will deliver to ISS more than 2.5 tons of payload, including small spacecraft, «Cedar», which will send astronauts to the autonomous flight during a spacewalk. The name for the satellite chosen symbolic — «Cedar» was the call sign of Yuri Gagarin in his flight, and launch of this satellite will be one of the activities of the celebration of 50 years the world’s first manned flight.
