China has launched a new mapping satellite

The satellite was developed by one of their companies under the jurisdiction of the Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation of China (CASC). For the most part it will be used for research and experiments, as well as building maps. The Government hopes that all obtained with the help of satellite data will provide the economic welfare of China.

Today’s start was 128 th in a row for the Chinese launch vehicle Long March. With the help of a missile on April 24 1970. was launched into orbit the first Chinese satellite Dongfanghong-1.

Earlier this month, with the help of rocket series «Long March» from the cosmodrome, located in China’s Sichuan province, was launched into space on account of the fifth satellite that is part of China’s satellite navigation system similar to the American GPS. All Chinese are planning to bring the Earth’s orbit 35 such satellites.
