Progress M-16M is prepared for launch.. / July 26, 2012 /

At Baikonur launch site, work continues in preparation for the launch of cargo vehicle, «Progress M-16M.»

Today in the assembly and testing facility spaceport site 254 went to the installation of vehicle adapter section through which spaceship is attached to the third stage rocket «Soyuz-U.» After completing the installation work «truck» was installed in the stand, where he continues to prepare for the installation of the nose fairing.

In the assembly and testing facility spaceport site 112 are stand-alone testing of the system management of the launch vehicle «Soyuz-U», which will have to launch a cargo ship.

Launch space rocket «Soyuz-U» to transport cargo vehicle «Progress M-16M» is scheduled for August 1.

The cargo ship will have to deliver to ISS more than 2.5 tons of cargo — scientific equipment and equipment for the station, the fuel to maintain its orbit, food, water and air for the astronauts.

The planned launch of cargo vehicle third this year. The preceding has been successfully performed on January 26 («Progress M-14M») and April 20 («Progress M-15M»).
