Crew of the Mars-500 experiment was placed in an inflatable donut.

Monday, April 26, crew of the Mars-500 were unusual test for psychological compatibility. Crew members were divided into pairs and tried to keep in balance a giant inflatable «donut» (the diameter of about three meters), situated at a height of five meters, ITAR-TASS. At the time of writing the news was known, ended the experiment or not.

Trainer-"donut" was called "Paraflayter. If subjects act in concert, it will soar in the air, but if participants do not coordinated movement, the «Paraflayter» leans to one side. As a result of experience with «donut» experts selected the most «friendly» couple, which will work on site, simulating the surface of Mars.

Currently, to participate in the experiment, selected 11 players — seven Russians, three Europeans and one citizen of China (in an experiment on «Paraflaytere» he did not participate, since it is not in Moscow). In the final part of the crew will consist of six people — three Russians and two Europeans and Chinese. In May, they will go to 520-day «flight» of the Red Planet.

This flight will be the final stage of a long experiment in which scientists examine whether people endure long-term isolation, with which they will encounter during actual space missions. Previously, volunteers participated in the 107-day and 14-day imitations.
