The Russian company «Orbital Technologies» together with RSC Energia intends in 2016 to launch into orbit a space hotel. On it informs RIA Novosti news agency referring to the director Sergei Kostenko.

At the present time, the idea is at the stage of design work. Kostenko said that the first module of the hotel capacity of about 20 cubic meters will be built in 2012-2013, and its placing in orbit is planned for end 2015 — early 2016. Development and construction of the module will be conducted at the enterprises of RSC Energia. «A number of partnership agreements with RSC Energia, and Roskosmos already signed,» — explained the director of Orbital technology. "

For his part, CEO of RSC Energia, Vitaly Lopota said: "The RSC Energia is ready to become a general contractor for this ambitious project. «Orbital Technologies» — not the only company involved in the creation of space hotels. The American firm Bigelow Aerospace to acquire a license for NASA technology manufacturing inflatable multilayered orbiting objects created and launched into orbit two inflatable module — Genesis I and Genesis II. While inside the modules is not carried out scientific experiments, but still wishing for a small fee to place small objects inside modules.
