The trajectory of «Ulysses» was selected in such a way that over time it is removed from the Earth and the transfer of data is becoming increasingly difficult.

Mission «Ulysses» has started in October 1990. Apparatus operated by NASA and supervised jointly by ESA, studied the sun, not only from the ecliptic plane, but from the poles.
