In the evening on Thursday from the cosmodrome Baikonur in Kazakhstan the carrier rocket «Union» with a spaceship" Progress М-02М «has been started, reports»Interfax".

After a going into orbit independent flight of «Progress» to the International space station (MKS) has begun. It is expected that a spaceship пристыкуется to station on May, 12th at 23:23 Moscow time.

As have explained in ЦУП, independent flight will last five days instead of usual two as «Progress М-02М» concerns the ships of a new series and during its mission flight tests will be conducted. Modernisations have undergone a control system of movement and system of onboard measurements thanks to what speed of the equipment has increased, and the weight of equipment has decreased. Now «Progress» can take aboard on 80 kgs of more cargo, than its predecessors.

Onboard a spaceship there are 2,25 tons of various cargoes, including water and air in cylinders, the foodstuffs, fuel for МКС, the scientific equipment, and also a new survival suit for extravehicular activity «the Sea eagle-mk» created in НПП «Star». The survival suit is computerised — he will inform the cosmonaut what to do in case of occurrence of a supernumerary situation. Nevertheless, computer helps it is possible to disconnect and work in a manual mode, explains RIA Novosti news agency.

On МКС it is already delivered two new «Sea eagles-mk», reminds agency. Test them during an exit in space for the first time the commander of 19th expedition МКС Gennady Padalka already working at station can.
