STC "Progress M-11M" in free flight. / August 24, 2011 /

In accordance with the International Space Station (ISS) on August 23 to 13 hours 37 minutes 32 seconds Moscow time on cargo transport ship (SCC) of «Progress M-11M» undocked from the service module «Zvezda» ISS and began to autonomous flight.

Over the next nine days of free flight on board the ship will be a few sessions of geophysical experiment «Radar-Progress». Its purpose is to determine the spatial and temporal dependencies of density, temperature, ionic composition of local inhomogeneities of the ionosphere, resulting from the work motor vehicle.

Reduction of the ship «Progress M-11M» in orbit is scheduled for September 1

In place of the undocked «truck» to the module «Zvezda» 26 August this year should dock the next cargo ship — «Progress M-12M», which will deliver to the ISS about 2.6 tons of various cargoes. Start STC «Progress M-12M» is scheduled for August 24 this year.
