The Ministry of Defence of Italy has started a communication satellite. / April 21, 2009 /

The International corporation Sea Launch has put on April, 20th into orbit the Italian military communication satellite SICRAL 1B, is informed on a company site. Start has been carried out from the floating platform «Odysseus» located in Pacific ocean near to equator. SICRAL 1B it was powerful three tons it is put into orbit by launch vehicle Zenit-3SL manufacturied by Russian-Ukrainian language. It is noticed that it is start became 30 successful start from the moment of company Sea Launch creation in 1999. SICRAL 1B has been constructed by company Thales Alenia Space in cooperation with Telespazio. The Communication satellite will be used for needs of the Ministry of Defence of Italy and NATO armies.
