Soyuz MS Launch. / June 6, 2016 /

In order to provide for improved security of the first Soyuz MS crewed spacecraft flight to the ISS, it was decided to re-test the flight software and the State Commission made the decision to launch the Soyuz-FG carrier rocket with the Soyuz-MS cargo spaceship on 7 July 2016 at 04:36 Moscow Time.

Primary Crew of first Soyuz MS manned spacecraft: Commander cosmonaut Anatoli Ivanishin (ROSCOSMOS), astronaut Takuya Onishi (JAXA), and astronaut Kate Rubins of NASA; Backup Crew: Oleg Novitsky (ROSCOSMOS), Thomas Pesquet (ESA), and Peggy Whitson (NASA).

Soyuz MS series cargo spaceships are equipped with the advanced navigation, control and communications system; the power supply system is improved: the photocells are increased in area and power – solar cells will be more efficient; the TV system, onboard measurement system, and communication and direction-finding system are new.

Soyuz TMA-19M landing is scheduled for 18 June 2016 at 12:12 Moscow Time.

Progress MS-03 is scheduled for launch on 17 July 2016.
