Soyuz-U Pre-Launch Processing Begins at Baikonur. / January 15, 2014 /

At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, the Soyuz-U launch vehicle with Progress M-22M transport cargo ship is being prepared for launch.
Today, the teams from Samara Progress State Research and Production Center and Yuzhny Space Center, FSUE TsENKI Division commenced the Soyuz-U pre-launch processing in the cosmodrome’s assembly & test building, Pad 112. Soyuz-U will place Progress M-22M into the near earth orbit. The experts are placing the rocket units in the workstations, making their external inspection, and preparing for „package“ assembly (joining the first stage’s four side unites to second stage’s central unit).
Soyuz-U/Progress M-22M is scheduled for launch on 5 February 2014.
The cargo ship will deliver more than 2.5 tons of supplies to the ISS.
