At Baikonur Preparation of Launching Complex for Takeoff of Proton-M/TurkSat-4A Begins. / January 13, 2014 /

This morning, at the Baikonur Launching Complex, Pad 81, the Yuzhny Space Center, TsENKI Division teams were fell in. Upon instruction, the Cosmodrome’s technicians started to prepare the equipment and facilities for receiving the Proton-M rocket and Turksat-4A telecommunication spacecraft.
The Proton-M/Breeze-M/Turksat-4A is schedule for launch in mid-February.

Turksat-4A КА belongs to the Turksat AS Turkish satellite operator and is designed to provide telecommunication and direct TV broadcasting service throughout Turkey as well as in Europe, Central Asia, the Middle East and Africa.
The 3800-kg Turksat-4A is built by Mitsubishi Electric (MELCO) on the DS2000 MELCO satellite bus platform. It carries Ku-, Ka- and C-band transponders on board.
The Turksat-4A launch will start the Program of Commercial Take-offs from the Russian cosmodromes in 2014.
