Spacecraft "Viasat-1" successfully launched into the target orbit. / October 20, 2011 /

October 19 at 22 h. 48 min. GMT from the Baikonur Cosmodrome successfully launched a Russian launch vehicle «Proton-M» with the spacecraft, «Viasat-1».

In compliance with the program launch in 22 hours 58 minutes. orbital block in the spacecraft, the transitional system and the upper stage «Breeze-M», separated from the launch vehicle and continued to autonomous flight. Separation of the spacecraft from the upper stage took place at the scheduled time of 8 hours 00 min. 44 sec. GMT. The spacecraft passed the management of the customer.

Start «Proton» became the sixth launch of the rocket in 2011 and 369th in its flight history.

SC «Viasat-1» was ordered by an American communications company ViaSat and designed to provide Internet services and communications in the United States, Canada, North America and Hawaii.
