Soyuz Manned Spacecraft Flight First Monitored from Vostochny Cosmodrome

MIPs successfully received in real time the telemetry data from the spacecraft with the international crew on board. The MIPs’ equipment operated as planned thus providing a good quality data.

D. Karpov, RKS Project Deputy Manager says that they are performing the Vostochny Cosmodrome’s KSISO joining tests. Its MIPs have been already tried out in some remote site, and today, the launch of the spacecraft from Baikonur was successfully monitored from the cosmodrome under construction, from 300km away from its base. They are testing the readiness of KSISO for guidance of future launches in all directions from Vostochny.

The mobile telemetry monitoring stations designed by RKS and NPO IT comprise the containers with payload and antenna modules installed in two KAMAZ-63501-type container carriers. The land and marine MIPs are incorporated into the Vostochny’s KSISO that consists of the Vostochny tracking and control center, multiservice system of communication and transfer of data from the ground spacecraft control complex, marine measuring complex, and number of used tracking and control complexes over the entire Russia.

The antenna, measuring, telemetric, and information systems and complexes manufactured by Russian Space Systems, Moscow Energetic Institute open design bureau, Measurement Equipment research and production association, Research Institute of Precision Instruments, and other enterprises of the integrated structure are designed as part of the Vostochny’s KSISO for reliable receiving of telemetric data and enhancing the capabilities of the ground control center.
