Seismic Danger in Central America.. / February 9, 2011 /

On the west coast of Mexico and Central American region, the danger of a major earthquake has emerged. This conclusion has been drawn by the experts, analyzing the geophysical situation in the region and in the world as whole (Annex 1). The most informative are cloud seismotectonic indicators, wich allowed to calculate the potential magnitude of M6-2 + (Annex 2). Possible dates of earthquakes are in the range of February 12-24. They are calculated after the geomagnetic disturbances of 01/31 and 02/01/2011.

We are grateful to our Mexican colleagues for additional geophysical information on the region.
