Taiwan experiment of seismic forecast continues

Russia’s researchers have found signs of preparation of a strong earthquake in Taiwan (Annex 1.2). As part of the third phase of the Russia-Taiwan seismic forecast experiment to develop methods of forecasting and monitoring of earthquake precursors in the classes of rotary, gravity, telluric features and the cloud seismotectonic indicator. February 1, 2010 simultaneously in these classes detected anomaly, indicating a possible strong earthquake with a magnitude M6 +. Possible date — until February 12.

The previous phase of the experiment was completed on November 5 unfulfilled prediction of the earthquake with a magnitude of M5.8. Its results are reflected in the messages on the site of the Center November 6 ( http://eng.ntsomz.ru/projects/earthquake/news0611200903 ) and November 11.

The current forecast will be presented in Tainan University on Feb. 8 by Dr. I. Shugan (Moscow State University by M. V. Lomonosov).
