Seysmomonitoring and forecasting: annual results and prospects.. / December 30, 2009 /

The passing 2009 year was interesting and rich in seismic events for sector professionals seismic monitoring and forecasting of intense. Of the 107 earthquakes with magnitude over 6 in January-November, 85 met forecasts featured conceptual model and developed on the basis of its forecasting methods. In 11 of 15 events with M7 + exhibited materials on site NTs OMZ. At 8 events to forecast that disappointed, and 7 was conducted a retrospective analysis and identified seysmoprognoznye signs.

The greatest interest among visitors NTs OMZ and pages «Operational monitoring of earthquakes» caused material on the tests a nuclear device in North Korea 25 May 2009 and justified the forecast on Taiwan.

The result of 6 years work was the publication of articles in the journal «Science in Russia», 2009, № 6, "Space-based monitoring of earthquake precursors» (Annex) .
Important results in understanding the processes of preparation and launch of earthquakes were obtained in joint experiments with our colleagues from the laboratory «forecast» (leader Dr. Martynov OV), distant school «Kosmometeotektonika» (Director Dr. Bobrowski VS, scientific consultant for the PhD. Kuznetsov DA), Department of Gas and Wave Dynamics, Mechanics and Mathematics Faculty of Moscow State University. MV Lomonosov, Moscow Engineering Physics Institute, etc. The result of joint work was the creation of a unique system of ground-space monitoring of earthquake precursors.

One of the major tasks for 2010 is the anticipation of a possible earthquake in the Kuril-Kamchatka zone. We hope to please our readers and specialists exit Atlas cloud seysmoindikatorov. Some materials Atlas repeatedly exhibited at NTs OMZ.
