Progress M-17M Cargo Vehicle Moved to Launch Pad

At Baikonur Cosmodrome at 05:00 Moscow Time, the Soyuz-U launch vehicle with the Progress M-17M cargo ship was rolled out from the assembly-and-test building, Site 112 to the launching complex, Site 1.

Upon delivering the launch vehicle to the launching complex, the space and rocket industry specialists initiated the work according the first launch day schedule.

The Progress M-17M-Soyuz-U is scheduled for launch on 31 October.

The cargo ship will carry more than 2.5 tons of supplies to the ISS – experiments, spare parts for the station, fuel to maintain the ISS orbit, food, water, and oxygen for astronauts.

The scheduled launch of the cargo ship is the fourth this year. The previous launches have been successfully performed on 26 January (Progress M-14M), 20 April (Progress M-15M), and 1 August (Progress M-16M).
