Disturbing situation on Kamchatka

Space-ground monitoring of the seismic indicators in the Kuril-Kamchatkan (Okhotsk Sea) zone allowed to reveal the preparation of a strong earthquake. The situation is strikingly similar to the June-July of 2008. Then, according to our forecast (message of June 7, 2008), deep-focus earthquake occurred in the Okhotsk Sea with M7.7 (message of July 7, 2008 ( http://eng.ntsomz.ru/projects/earthquake/doda_news070708 )). We attribute the similarity of seismotectonic situations in the summers of 2008 and 2011 to the isoseismicity of the Chandler wooble fragments.

On June 28, 2011 cloud seismotectonic indicators (CSIs) were observed above Kamchatka and Okhotsk Sea (Appendix 1) giving the potential magnitude estimate of M6.0+. Previously, on May 31 CSIs were also observed above Okhotsk sea with potential magnitude estimate of M7.0+ (message of June 1, 2011; Appendix 5).

Potential event date is determined by the seismomagnetic start-up meridians presented on composite of Appendix 1. Potential zones P1 and P2 are presented there too.

Seriousness of the situation is confirmed by the anomalous proton diffusion data registered on the stations of the distant school «Cosmo-Meteo-Tectonics» (Petropavlovsk-Kamchatsky, CEO Bobrovskiy V.S., research supervisor Kuznetsov D.A.). Telluric anomalies of 300/300 uV/km were registered on June 29, 2011 at the Kakioka Station (Kakioka Magnetic Observatory, Japan) synchoronously to the proton anomalies. Also noting the high-frequency (HF) anomalies on WBG-3 and WBG-4 stations of our Tula associates of the «Forecast» Centre of Tula State University (research supervisor Martynov O.V.).

All mentioned before allows to draw a conclusion about disturbing situation in Kamchatka-Okhotsk Sea region. Also abrupt activization of volcano activity is not ruled out.
