The work of the ISS extended to 2020.. / March 12, 2010 /

Members of the ISS project have decided to extend the work station until 2020. It is reported by Interfax, citing unnamed sources. It is reported that an official confirmation of this decision will appear later.

"The countries involved in the project called for the extension of the station after 2015. The decision will be formally announced soon after the approval of the technical issues ", — quotes the source said.

In the negotiations on the fate of the space station is attended by heads of space agencies of Japan, Russia, United States, Europe and Canada. Meeting is held in Tokyo.

It was planned that the station will serve only until 2015. However, many project participants have expressed their desire to continue the work of the orbital complex. On such plans, for example, has repeatedly said the head of Federal Space Agency Anatoly Perminov.
